CBS Reveals Premiere Date for Renewed Fan-Favorite Series
CBS has finally announced the premiere date for its hit reality TV series Survivor, which will celebrate its milestone 50th season in a few months. The network announced the release date alongside other midseason premieres and season renewals in 2025 for other series like CIA, The Neighborhood, Boston Blue, Y: Marshals, and Tracker. As a twist, the upcoming Survivor series will introduce several new elements, bring back past winners and fan-favorite castaways, and feature a marathon of classic episodes from past seasons.
Survivor 50 begins with a lengthy three-hour premiere
The premiere date for Survivor 50 will be on Wednesday, February 25, at 8:00 PM ET on CBS. It will be three hours, the longest in franchise history, running from 8:00 PM ET to 11:00 PM ET.
From that point, the series will have regular-length episodes starting on Wednesday, March 4 at 8:00 PM ET.
Before then, CBS will be airing classic Survivor episodes for two weeks before the Survivor 50 release date. Starting on Monday, February 9, it will air 10 encore episodes across the show’s 49 seasons . It’s still unclear which episodes will be rerun by CBS, but we should know more closer to the marathon’s premiere.
The cast for Survivor 50 will feature many all-stars from across Survivor’s many seasons. This includes favorite castaways like Colby Donaldson, Jenna Lewis-Dougherty (from the first season!), and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, alongside former winners Dee Valladares and Kyle Fraser. Fans will also recognize Cirie Fields and Ozzy Lusth who have been on multiple seasons of the show, as well as Angelina Keeley, Aubry Bracco, Rick Devens, and Mike White. Yes, that Mike White, the creator of the Emmy-winning The White Lotus and past contestant on Survivor 37.
One major twist for Survivor 50 is the fan vote, which will decide many elements, like what players will receive for supplies and how many advantages will exist across the season.
